My entrepreneurial journey began with a simple problem. After having my baby, I struggled to find clothing that fit the way I wanted it to. I wondered, “Maybe I should create it myself.”  That idea eventually led me to Vancouver Fashion Week, where I was recognized as an up-and-coming Vancouver designer.

Then reality arrived. Launching two collections a year required serious capital, and I realized the business model wasn't right for me. So I pivoted. I created Inspire de La Rue, producing six fashion and multidisciplinary creative shows between 2011 and 2016, along with brand shoots and modelling events.

What began as fashion became something much bigger: bringing designers, models, dancers, makeup artists, photographers, performers, business people, and emerging talent together to create experiences that came alive on stage.

It taught me some of the most valuable lessons of my career:

Plans change. People change. Markets change.

And sometimes the best thing you can do is stop, listen, adapt, and create a new way forward. It also taught me how much I love working with people, especially emerging talent. I became a bridge between creative people and business people, helping young models, dancers, artists, and other professionals find their voice, understand their value, and learn to ask for what they were worth.

That experience continues to influence how I work today.
